Boss’s consider themselves self-aware. But their 360 feedback results often reveal a different story. In over 100 detailed feedback assessments I've conducted, most boss’s tell me they know themselves and don’t expect any surprises in the results. But there are ALWAYS gaps—whether it's overstating strengths or not recognising weaknesses. I’m not shaming anyone here. How can you know your impact if you live in a feedback vacuum? (Time to close that feedback vacuum? I’ll share how we can work together at the end of this email) Most organisations lack effective feedback processes, or the environment doesn’t feel safe enough for genuine, useful feedback. What can you do about this, without overhauling your entire HR processes? Here’s the exercise I encourage you to undertake if you want to consciously close the gap. Ask 3-5 people to describe you in 5 words—no prompting. It’s that simple. Consider asking trusted colleagues, a mentor or coach or friends who see you in different contexts. This simple exercise can shine a light on how OTHERS perceive you, helping to fill in your self-awareness gaps without any formal processes. My clients have been deeply moved by the feedback in this exercise. Gift that to yourself. You are worth it. If you want even more feedback, let's talk about how a leading 360 assessment tool could give your career the boost you want. 🌟 I'm opening two exclusive coaching spots this summer— let’s close that feedback vacuum together! 🌟 Your wingwoman Catherine P.S.
